Valentines Day

I am not a big fan of Valentine's day, not as far as doing couple things and buying couple presents, etc. I do love enjoying with my kids and making it just a really fun holiday. However, I have come to realize that I do care about the couple dates and couple present and couple lovey dovey stuff when I am prego. I am not sure why, maybe it is my lack of confidence that comes during all my pregnancies or maybe it is just that I have extra hormones. Whatever the reason I DEMAND that Garett goes all out on Valentines day (when I am prego) and this year he did not let me down. He surprised me with a date to the Melting Pot. This is a place that I have always wanted to go to, and because of the price it will most likely be the last time we go to it. We had a great time and it was sooooo good.

I love you Garett.
You are the best and I am so glad that you are my Valentine every day!

Just some pictures of us!

Sunday mornings have become a day when we go all out on breakfast. Wait I meant to say that Garett goes all out on breakfast. He makes things that we normally don't have time for the rest of the week. Here are the kids waiting for a German Pancake.

We were all ready, hair done, shoes on and early for church so we took a picture. Cute family, huh?
This winter has been extremely warm, so we went camping in January. Garett found this awesome place that let us have the group site for cheap. We invited all our friends but only the F family came with us to bear the cold. It really wasn't that bad. See Garett and Mr. Kris don't even have jackets on. Kris is an amazing cook and we were privileged to have him make dinner for us and dessert.
The next day the temperature dropped but the kids still insisted that we do a little GeoCaching. Here they are holding up their treasures.
The first of February all the kiddos went t the Dentist. It was Mallory's first time ever. She did pretty good and we are proud that nobody has cavities.
We are loving our last few months here in Winston Salem but are also looking for to moving to San Antonio this summer!

Preston turned 6 (like a month ago)

Preston enjoying cake for Breakfast! We love this tradition. This was on his "real" birthday but his party didn't happen for a few weeks after.
My kids love having pinatas but I always for get about making them until it is to late. Last year for Spencer's party I found how to make this super simple pinata. It take about 30 mins and my kids think it is cool and that is all that matters, right?

We had a Scooby-Doo party which was super cool and a lot of fun. It was also super easy to do. Garett still brags about it. Seriously, if you kids like Scooby then you should do this party. Email me and I will give you all the details. The only problem is I didn't want to make a Scooby cake and I don't buy them so I had to figure out something. You can never go wrong with candy on top of frosting on top of cake.

Each activity we did would revolve around the kids getting clues so they could solve the mystery of the Cake Phantom. The pinata had candy but it also had dog bones with clues on it.
Here they are after they just killed a room full of Ghosts and they are trying to put all the clues in the right order.  Luckily we had some really great reader.
And finally they figured out who stole the cake. If anybody knows Garett you know that this was his favorite part. He was hiding in the front eating the cake until they figured out the last clue. The best part is when Garett told the kids "I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids"
Look how cute he is looking at his cake. He is just like his dad, only goes to the party for the cake.

And I have to add this cause she is just to cute.

Preston is an amazing kid. He loves PB and J sandwiches and gets mad when I try to put something else in his lunch and he hates school lunches. He is such a great big brother especially to Mallory. She loves to dance with somebody right now and even though he would rather not he dances with her for a long time. He is still VERY social and is pretty good about making sure everybody has a friend. He still can't wait until he is a teenager. His favorite color is still orange but has decided to expanded to green and wants me to paint his next room these two colors-um no! He still struggles to read, but has the most amazing comprehension on books he does read or are read to him. He is sad when we plan something to do during the day and he has to go to school.  He is also the fastest kid I know!
We Love you, Preston!
