What do you mean no more naps

I forget how big Preston is getting. So I haven't thought about him getting close to giving up naps. However, he has been having a problem sleeping lately and Garett and I agree it may have something to do with him still taking 2-3 hour naps. I think I started crying when G suggested that we stop giving naps.
After much thought I decided that I would simply keep him up longer and try making him take shorter naps. This means that Spencer goes to bed first, leaving Preston and I some time to work on our ABC's or 123's. Which is what I used to do with him before him and Spencer took naps at the same time.
Luckily for me I still get about an hour of freedom. I usually use this time to read or rest or just sit and stare at the wall, basically whatever I want to do.

1st trip to Dentist

Both of the boys did amazing jobs when it was their turn. However, P would have nothing to do with getting sealing on his teeth. So now we have to make sure to do and extra good job of cleaning the "tooth monsters" off of his teeth.

Dancing Girls?

I've been meaning to post this for awhile but never got around to it, until now.
Last week we were driving home from the airport after our trip to Phoenix and Preston was singing and just making some noise. I started to listen to what he was saying so that I could see if he was actually sing a real song. This is what he said:
"Dancing Girls, Dancing Girls, wooooohooooooo!"
During the last part he pumped his hand up and down.
I am a little nervous because I have no idea where he got this from and why he was so excited about it.

It has been a month. I've been gone. Sure I could have blogged from my parents house but I like to blog with Pictures and I didn't have a way to up load them so it has been a month.

Last stop Phoenix

The last part of the trip we ended up in Phoenix, just in time to get the flu. It was horrible, high fevers, runny noses and no sleep. I had the week filled with seeing my friends and doing fun stuff but it all got cancelled or postponed. So the last day of our trip I ran all over Phoenix trying to see all of my friends and finish my sisters hair.

On Saturday the 3rd we had a little Mommy/ Daughter day. We ran/walked a 5k, then had Pedicures and of course ate. I love my mommy very much and I am super proud of her for walking the whole 5k. I knew you could do it. From open heart surgery to 5k in a year, you are awesome. (Sorry no picture).
While I spent time with my mommy and sisters, Garett went back down to Tucson and did the same. They went to the zoo and fed the animals. Below is Grandma Jane and Spencer.
My friend Annell turned 30 last November, but I wasn't there to celebrate with her so I made her re-live the whole thing again. She is NOW 30. Happy Birthday Verna-love your buns!!!!!!

The boys really love Candy canes and these were the biggest they had ever seen. The other picture is us hiking some mountain in Phoenix on New Years Day. It is unreal how pretty it is there, hehehe. Actually it was really nice.

This is where Spencer slept-ok not really because when we shut the door he screamed and it echoed, jk again sortof.

Showlow

On the 29th of December we headed up to Showlow to visit Grandma and pa Jackson. I knew that Showlow was cold but I didn't think it would be as cold as it was and therefore I did not pack for all the snow. It all worked out. We had a great time, the boys loved their dog but the dog was not so sure about them. By this point in the trip the boys were getting tired of all the traveling but Grandma and pa were very patient with them.

This is Preston making a snow Angel. Notice the perfect snowball in his Hand. Grandpa Jackson was a professional snowball maker, must be cause he grew up in Ohio and not AZ.

We went to a lake that had a really nice path to walk around, it also had a billion ducks who love to be feed. Grandma and pa bought a whole loaf of bread that we feed to them. Look at how cute Garett and I are.

Back to Phoenix

When we got back to Phoenix on Christmas Eve. We read the story of Christ's birth and opened our Christmas PJ's. Grandpa and Ma even got some.


I don't know how much Preston understands about Christmas but I was really proud of him when he asked me if we were going to make a cake for Christ birthday and eat it for breakfast which is one of our families traditions.


We wanted the boys to have something to open on Christmas so we did stocking which includes a box of their favorite kind of cereal. Since they never have cereal, especially not sugar cereal, I guessed which one was their favorite.

This was Spencer's favorite present, the box that the big wheels that my dad bought came in.

On the 28th Preston turned 3 years old. Here he is enjoying his birthday breakfast cake. Later that day some of his cousin came over and celebrated with him which meant he got another cake! It was a great day for him.

And off we go...

We flew into Phoenix on the 20th. We were there long enough to get Grandma and pa Moore's tree up. Then we headed down to Tucson to see some of Garett's family. First we met up with Auntie Heather who gave of the "gift of the year".

What is the "gift of the year"? Well there always seems to be a present that everybody seems to play with and has the most fun with. It isn't always the biggest or most expensive. I remember one year my nephew got this rocket thing and we all spent hours outside making that thing fly.

Anyways, Heather gave Spencer a cash register. Not only did my boys play with it but my nephews opened up a store (they are in their teens) and my dad spent some time with it buying ice cream! Thank you aunt Heather. (I don't have a picture of it but I will let anybody come and play with it if they want to)

While in Tucson we also visited Garett step brother Jeff and best friend Cameron. We found the best McDonalds playland and ALL of the boys had fun climbing around-some of them complained about their knees hurting but overall it was fun.

We spent the night in Tucson so that we could spend the following day with his mom. Grandma Jane spoiled the boys, but no matter what toy they got nothing was a cool as her bird. They are still talking about it.

Santa comes early

We didn't want to haul the boys Christmas' gifts to AZ and back so we do what parents do best and lied to their kids. 

We have a tradition of only getting 3 gifts from Santa.  Since we are celebrating Christ's birthday, we figure our kids shouldn't get any more than that.

CPS vist???

I think a visit from CPS is going to be inevitable at the rate Spencer is chalking up his injuries.

Just a re-cap of the last months worth of doctor's visits for Spencer:

1) ER Trip for seizure

2) Follow-up for seizure, find that he has ear infections along with a viral infection causing a rash

3) Follow-up on ears that don't seem to be getting better (false alarm...blame the medical student in the house)

4) ER Trip for thumb injury from falling

5) Follow-up visits x2 for thumb injury with orthopedic surgeons

6) Surgery for his thumb

7) Urgent Care visit this afternoon for falling and biting through his lip/chin

8) Follow-up on his surgery (pending)

Apparently, it isn't that parents turn to TV so they don't have to keep a better eye on their kids, it is that parents turn to TV to keep their kids physically safe.  Maybe we should look in to getting some TV stations and stop encouraging Spencer and Preston to be "active."
