The end of an era

This is our last bottle. Today I am giving it away. Yes I am sad but no that doesn't mean that I really do want more kids.

It is like when I was at the end of my mission. I was sad but I knew that there was nothing I could do to go back. That season of my life was over.

The infant stage ( season) of my life is over. Best time of my life so far.

Vaughn

We love our "big red ". He is now entering the really fun part of babyhood. He doesn't talk much but is finally trying. He copies everything and anything that his siblings do. He thinks that tooting is the funniest thing ever. He gives the absolute best hugs. He is our best sleeper, you know the kids that you just lay down in his crib and he takes a 3 hour nap. He loves food. His favorites are hotdogs and popcorn and raisin. If fact tonight we were practicing saying words with him.."say daddy. Say cat" he'll then try to say said word. Then we said "say hotdog" and he said yum. We thought it was a fluke but we tried again and always the same. Vaughn loves books but only like 5 and want them read over and over. He has to sleep with background noise but that is just because I used it since birth to drown out the other kids.
We love our Vaughn and sure glad he made it into our family.

Haircuts

Tonight we got haircuts. Everybody looks the same except for preston. Spencer loves longer hair and vaughn doesn't have much hair and mallory needs more hair.

More disney

Disneyworld

I know the goal was to write everyday but when you are at disney you don't have time or energy!!
We spent a whole week in Florida at Garett's uncles house. Uncle Chuck has worked for disney for a little over a year. He has a big house that is 2 miles from disney and he basically has the parks memorized. Needless to say we had a blast.
And as a bonus we convinced auntie Sues to come down and play at disney too.
Thank you Uncle Chuck! !

Family fit night

Tonight at the kids school they had a family fit night with Zumba class and then tables from local health care facilities.  I am still getting used to blogging everyday and taking pictures so of course I left my camera/phone in the car. But thanks to the internet i got a picture of the HEB buddy. If you are not from Texas or haven't ever lived here then you don't know what HEB buddy is. See here in San Antonio there is really only one grocery store and they have a mascot. HEB buddy goes to all sorts of fun things like Spurs games and family fit night.  We'll Vaughn thinks that the HEB buddy is the greatest and he wanted to spend all night giving him high fives but they boys got bored fast. Good thing that Vaughn also loves to dance,  which is what he did in the Zumba class

Garett made mac and cheese. He got tired of vaughn knocking over his bowl. So a little doctor duct tape and problem solved.

Best Sunday ever

Garett got to come to church today
First time in months. Life is so much easier with 2 parents.  Also mallory was wearing a super cute outfit with super cute braids. I love being a mom of a girl.

Hair

Yesterday I did 4 people's hair and earned a little bit of money. I am thankful that I have that ability. I love having my friends come over and letting our kids play while I do their hair. To tell you the truth I miss working in a salon.  A real salon with a shampoo bowl and swivel chairs and gossip magazines.

MRIs are Loud

Yesterday we all woke up early. I took 3 of the kids to a friends house while Preston went to work with Dad. I later met up with them. We did all this because Preston had to get an MRI. He has a lump in his groin area. Not to worry it is nothing to serious but he most likely will be having surgery. They wanted to put Preston under sedation but I told them he would be fine and not move. They had me stay in there just in case. He was a stud and didn't more an inch. He said it was loud and really boring, which I will agree.

Spencer

Spencer has changed the most in this last year. The boy who once was accident prone,  is now our go to guy for climbing, jumping and anything else "scary".  He also used to have meltdowns at least weekly but now they are a rare thing. However the pictures show 2 of his latest meltdowns. One at the children's museum when he was so hyper we had to put him in timeout, which is for babies, so he complained. So we did what any parent would do, we took pictures. The other is when he had to do writing for homework. Spencer hates writing but it was only 5 sentences. It took him almost 2 hours.
Spence has always been our love bug and needs lots of hugs and cuddles to survive. I am not a cuddle person so it has taken me some time to get used to but because of Spencer I am more of a cuddler with all my kids.
Spencer is a natural athlete. He is also naturally lazy. We will see what he will do with his talents. Right now he is doing Parkour and is amazing at it. Everything is to easy for him. He is starting basketball and will continue to do swim and soccer. His favorite food is tacos. Favorite color is baby blue. He loves to sleep with no less then 3 blankets but will take more. He is an amazing cleaner of the bathroom. His nickname is micey given to him by mallory. He loves to scooter both electric and regular. Pretty much Spencer is the coolest 6 year old ever!!!

Down the drain

It started off with our dishwasher not draining all the way. After an hour on the phone and some troubleshooting suggestions,  I got a screw driver. 45 min later I have fixed the dishwasher but when I ran the dishwasher for final inspection the garbage disposal started running. First off, I didn't break it. Not my fault. The problem was  there all along but the dishwashers problem was helping the disposal problems (sortof).
Kids came home from school and I gave up. Garett got home and shook  his head and went to youtube the problem. 3 hours later, trip to home depot and pizza for dinner we got a new disposal and Garett gets bragging rights that he is smart and handy!

A sunbeam

Mallory is a Sunbeam. That means that at church she is out of the baby class and moved into the big kid class. We have a tradition here that we celebrate with a cake (no surprise), and the cake has to have a sun on it.
We love Mallory. Some days we love her more then others. She has her own mind and she WILL do what she wants. She is our number one destroyer and our worst picker uper. She loves to read book and will often be found quietly reading to herself. She also loves make-up and for a almost 4 year old she does a fantastic job. Really, I am not joking! Mallory loves her older brothers but she mimics them a little to much some times. We have really had to crack down on potty humor (get it, crack Hehehe). He favorite color is Rainbow and purple. She, like every other little girl, love sparkles.
Mallory is in Dance and would be really good if she ever listened to her teacher. She spends most of her time looking at herself in the mirror shaking her booty. Mallory also does a little Parkour like her brothers. This spring she will be doing soccer!
Mallory's favorite food is juice boxes and cheerios. Basically that is all she eats. Occasionally we can get her to eat a vegetable or protein.
Mallory has her dad wrapped around her finger and often asks to go on dates with dad. Luckily she counts going and getting gas a date. Like I said, we love our little girl!

4 Jan

Today was kind of crazy. We had church activities, haircuts and colors and if non of that was enough we went to six flags.

Today's pictures are of non of the above activities.  First Vaughn loves to shot nerd guns. The one in the picture is his favorite. He loads the bullet then wants you to pump it up and then he shoots you. Goes gets the bullet and does it again. When my parents where here he literally did this for an hour. Grandparents are sucks and think it's so cute so they kept loading him up and he kept shooting them.
2nd is me getting some pictures while wrestling with preston. It will be a very sad day when they can get me into a leg hold and squeeze me to death but until that happens leg hold of death is my favorite

3 Jan 13

Today we went to the children's museum.  It was small but had some great stuff, like did you know that the first video phone was made in 1966. Crazy huh!
Favorite quote of the day where when mallory was serving me a meal and i complained like she sometimes does. She promptly told me that " somebody needs a nap".

Finished

Before Preston read the last chapter in the Book of Mormon we gave him his very own Scriptures with his name on them.  He finished read in those. We are so very proud of him.

New Years Resolution

A couple of years ago my friend did a goal of taking a picture and writing a blog post everyday for a year. It was fun to see her days and really get to know her family. Since I have all but given up on my blogging I have decided that I need that kind of motivation. So one of my goals this year is to picture blog post eveyday. Yeah!!
So here we go
Preston turned 8 and was baptized on his birthday. We ordered 50 invites and he had a blast giving them to just about everybody at school. We had lots of friends come out, including our bus driver, Frank, he is awesome. Preston was truly ready for baptism. He had read the Book of Mormon completely, his dad had given him the missionary discussions and he prayed to know the truthfulness. I am so proud of him for taking this step.
Preston really is a great brother. He and Spencer are best friends a fact that I know because their teachers tell me that they always play together at recess if they can and are so excited to see each other in the bus line at the end of the day. Preston is also great with Mallory. He plays dolls with her and reads to her and lately he has learned how to include her in games without really including her in the games, which makes her happy so I am ok with it. Preston still has a little nervous twitch but he can control it better which is a good thing. I am glad that in the church they start giving talks and such at an early age because that have helped a lot. Preston has an amazing imagination and has started to tell stories at night to his siblings because Dad is not often home to do it. His "not family" best friend is Teancum who is in his class at school and church. He is a great influence on Preston because he loves to read and do school work. Prestons favorite color is orange, favorite food is still Peanut Butter and Jelly and he still hates sauces in any form. He plays soccer and is actually pretty good at it but doesn't love it enough to push himself. He did swim team this last year and improved leaps and bounds. I look forward to see what he can do this year. He also does Parkour and loves it. And because Mom and Dad love basketball so much he will be playing in January. We love Preston and so glad that he made us parents.
