Not recommended for Children

Garett watched the boys last night while I was at class, so of course they went to the movie store! They decided on Kung Fu Panda. Most of you have seen it. How did your kids act afterwards? My turned into ninjas and started to beat up dad, which I thought was funny. Then they started to beat up each other, not as funny. Then they started to beat up the water in the bathtub, starting to get old. Then they started to beat up me, and that is when I decided that Kung Fu Panda is the worst movie ever.
However, I still do laugh when they start singing, "Everybody was Kung fu fighting, quick as lighting"

Preston is 4

Preston is a big boy now. He can have gum, wipe his own bum, and protect the new baby when she comes. He had a very good birthday. We started off by having cake for breakfast which is a tradition I got from a friend and we love it. Later during the day we took them to the mall to jump on these cool trampolines. Then he got to pick where we went out to dinner, with a little encouragement he chose sushi.
Then on the 1st we had a little party. I kind of threw it together at the last minute cause I could never figure out a time that worked best. It turned out great. He had 7 friends over for a dinosaur party. And of course we had a pinata, having learned that tradition from a different friend. My friend makes all of her pinatas and I made Spencer's but this time I didn't have enough time so I had to buy it, I was really sad about that. The cake was the best part of the party. I thought it turned out so cute and I was so sad when I had to cut it up.

Preston getting ready to jump! Spencer and him got to go at the same time and they were laughing to hard every time the saw each other in the air.

Preston going really wanted the Candy and couldn't focus on the hitting. Luckily for us we had some professionals (the Smith Kids) they really cracked it open.
When the Smith Kids couldn't finish it off, Garett and Dave ripped a branch off of our tree and had a little fun. They said they were just trying to help.
This is my totally cute cake.

You can't tell from this picture but this is Caleb popping the dino egg. He was AWESOME! He used his teeth and nails and had no mercy on those balloons.

Favorite Quotes from the Boys

The boys really got into giving and getting gifts. As expected they could not keep a secret of what they got for others, and Preston had a hard time not knowing what was in the packages. One night I was trying to get them to go to bed so I could wrap a few gifts. This is the conversation I had with Preston
Me: Get to bed so I can wrap your presents
P: Can I help you wrap
Me: No, then you would know what I got you and that is no fun
P: Mom I promise I won't tell myself what you got me.....

Here is another one...
I don't know where he got it but Spencer has taken to making a slurping sound when he talks of eating something yummy.
"Can I have some SLURPPPPP orange"
"What is for SLURPPPP dinner"
"Can we have a SLURPPPP treat"
At first it was only Spencer doing it but now all three boys are doing it!!! Somehow it makes everything sound so yummy.

And last story..
Preston is a great big brother, he give Spencer all the best toys, lets him open his presents and basically protects him from all bad guys. Yesterday I told Spencer that when the baby is born he would be a big brother just like Preston and that he would have to be nice and protect the baby just like Preston does him. He quickly responded " I don't want to be a big brother, Preston can be the babies big brother and I can just be mean to her"
I hope he doesn't really mean that...

Santa's Visit

I hate when I forget to turn them the right way. Presto with his cool new hoop. He has a great shot!!
Batman Spencer
Spencer's pile from Santa(Potato Head, Geo Trax, Batman, Tool Bench)
Preston's Pile(Batman, Computer, Playdough, GeoTrax)
The Family with our new PJ's and collar!

We had a wonderful Christmas and hope you all did too. Thank you to all who sent gifts and cards. Friends and Family and of course our Savior is what makes this day special.

Worth the money..

My sister who lives in Minnesota always tells people that snow is so much fun to play/live in when you have the right gear. So when we moved to Canada I bought the boys and us good jacket/pant/hats/etc. Well about a month ago I saw some snow stuff and decided to buy it even though it hardly snows here.
Well last Friday it snowed!!!! We loved playing in it. The boys all built snow forts and went
sledding. The best part is that once I got the boys dressed they stayed out there for hours, literally. The were out of the house by 8 and only came in for lunch and naps all day Friday, Sat. and I hate to say it but even Sunday since church was cancelled ( I know I am totally going to burn for not keeping the Sabbath day holy). They stayed warm and dry in all of there snow pants and jackets. So I would say I got my money's worth.
Here are pictures...

New Computer

So even though it really wasn't in the Christmas budget, Garett got me a new computer!! Now I blog and email and whatever I want instead of waiting for a turn to use Garett's computer. I am super excited. So stay turned for more blogging fun.

Weekend Trip to Ohio

Although the weather was way cold and it was a long drive for a short trip; we were so happy to visit with our wonderful family if even for a sad occasion.

The boys were great, which is always nice. They look a little bored here, but I promise that was not the case. They always find something to get into and have fun with it just took a little time. Spencer got sick before we left and it turned into a little bit of pneumonia by the time we got to Ohio, but luckily that has mostly passed.

Although a little hard to see here, but the people from the most extremely cold climates are wearing short sleeve shirts even though it was freezing. (Canada - Aunt Susan, and Garett's cousins Gerald and Chuck from South Dakota).

To avert the meltdown, Spencer and Dad with ipod touch. Spencer is basically a video game junky so we hide it from him most of the time even though all the games are educational.

Great Uncle John and a visibly pregnant Rachel with bundled up Spencer at the cemetery.

Calvary Cemetery is where Garett's grandparents and great grandparents are buried. From the place where Garett's mom's ashes were buried we could see many important places from her childhood: the Catholic elementary school where she attended (the windows to one of her classrooms actually looked out at the cemetery), the Church where she was first married, the building where she took piano lessons and we were one street over from the house she grew up in. It was all very nice.
