Alms is making me do this

  • Which artist/CD do you listen to when you don't feel like listening to the radio? I don't really care about the who's in the music department, so basically whatever is on is what I listen to.
  • What is something that you think your spouse looks good in? (Try to keep it PG rated people(=) My husband is super hot in his uniform. His Dress blues are the best but I like the BDU's also.
  • What is something you do to destress? Read a book, talk on the phone, get a pedicure
  • If you had all the time and money in the world what hobby would you take up? Shopping!!
  • Which genre of movie do you prefer, comedy, sci fi, drama, horror, chick flick? Comedy or a good chick flick
  • What is your favorite candy? Reese's Easter Eggs. They are better then regular Reese's
  • How many kids do you plan on having? 3, Which means I am all done!!
  • What is something you try to avoid doing so you won't end up like your Mother? Keeping stuff. My mom and dad have so much stuff. They never throw anything away. I love to get rid of stuff, yet I still have soooooooo much stuff so I need to do a better job of it.
  • What is one of your favorite quotes and why? It is actually a scripture. " The lame that have faith to leap shall leap". It gives me hope that I can do anything that I want to do.
  • What is something people may not know about you?I am afraid of the dark! Which is the main reason we have an alarm system on our house. I wake up Garett at least once a month because I hear something and I want him to check it out.
  • Do you have recurring dreams and what is one of them?I have a dream that my dad get taken by evil men and they make another one of him. The dubbed dad is awful and does really bad thing and we don't know that it really isn't dad. I have no idea what that means but I have had it like 3 or 4 times.

I am supposed to tag 7 people but really I don't want to put any pressure on anybody so if you are cool then you will do this but if you are not so cool then you won't.

She's here!

Mallory Susan Jackson. March 11th, 2010. 7lbs 11oz.

Mallory was born March 11th at about 1030pm. Rachel's water broke around 6pm and we headed over to the hospital without any real contractions. They admitted her, and by about they hooked her up to some pitocin to bring the contractions on. Two of Rachel's friends showed up shortly afterward, they wanted to see a baby born (but not being the ones doing the pushing as they experienced with their own births!). I figured things would go kind of slow since by around 930 she still wasn't having any great contractions. I decided that I would go try to catch some shut eye for a little bit since she was under good care with Sara and Page. Within about 25 minutes I got a call to "you better hurry up." So I came right back, and on my way got a second call that Rachel was ready to push. Three pushes and Mallory was out and I missed all the laboring. Word is that there was a small moment of weakness when Rachel was about to change her mind about the epidural, but Page and Sara coached her through that (although dilating from 8cm to 10cm in less than 5 minutes is a painful thing). Rachel was a total champ! She was up and about in no time and is doing very well today. Mallory is quit an eater. She is quiet and sleeps a lot (but we have been fooled before, but we are cautiously optimistic). Preston and Spencer love her. They insist that we be here at the hospital all the time and can't figure out why Rachel and Mallory don't come home with us. I also have to mention that Rachel's parents came out to help out with the baby and keeping our household together for the next couple weeks while I am busy with school. They arrived the night before Mallory was born, got settled in and have been such a blessing to have with us.

Preston

The boys are in the bath right now in preparation for bedtime. Garett and I are outside the bathroom waiting for them to be done, and what do we hear, a little tooting in the tub. Spencer asks Preston "What was that?" Without missing a beat Preston says "Well Mommy and Daddy are outside doing fireworks".
Preston has become the best at making excuses for his tooting, they have been Hippos, frogs, crickets and now fireworks. I can't believe that my 4 year old is a toot excuser.

Now he is not all gross. He does do cute things also. In preparation for the baby I put together a backpack of clothes for the boys. We have been telling them if they wake up and mommy and daddy are gone then somebody is downstairs to take of them. Well the other day Garett went into school early and I fell asleep on the couch after some insomnia. I heard Preston wake up and go into our room like he does every morning then I heard him run back into his room. Then he came downstairs. I sat up to say good morning and there he was with the backpack of clothes and a huge grin, until he saw me and realized that we weren't gone to the hospital.

Preston is such a good boy. He does have his up and downs but we love him so much. He is so excited to be a big brother again and is having a hard time waiting for his sister, almost as much as his mom is.

Auntie Sues

We love, love Auntie Sues!! This weekend she came for a visit which is always so much fun. She has a little puppy who the boys love. However, this visit was a little different then normal. Friday the boys were great, but we got them to bed late, then they woke up early. They were a little tired but still pretty good. They didn't have very good nap on Sat. and then got to bed late again. Sunday they were horrible. I kept joking that I wanted to go into labor just so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. They just love Auntie Sues and puppy Morgan so much that they get so excited and then not getting enough sleep just put them over the top.
However, if Auntie Sues called and told me she was coming back this weekend I would be so joyous.
We love you Auntie Sues!

How to get a baby out!

Anybody who knows me, knows I hate being pregnant. I feel guilt every time I say or even just think this. I should be grateful for this blessing of being able to have kids. I am grateful that I two wonderful kids and am about to have another. Having said all that I still think pregnancy is a punishment and something that I have to endure.
I am in my 36th week and I just want this baby out of me now (if she is healthy of course). So I have made a plan. Before I tell you my plan I want to say that I really don't believe in these old wives tells. I know that the baby will come out whenever it wants to no matter what I want. However, I can't just sit around a wait.
35th Week- Stop taking Aspirin. (I am Protein S deficient, Garett has read that taking aspirin will not allow you to go into labor and he has read the opposite also. All I know is I went off of it with Preston and a week later I went into labor, I took it until the day I went delivered Spencer and had to be induced)
35th- Start walking. I have had the most seditary pregnancy ever. I was so sick at first then my appendix surgery. Then it was cold and I was 5 month and just didn't care. So I figure if I start walking and increase the pace as well as difficulty every few day then I will be good. We have a really good hill by our house.
Also, I start drinking herbal berry tea.
36th- Walk/run/gallop up our stair an extra 5 times in the morning and evening. Eat a can on pineapple a day.
37th- Start eating some mango and kiwi and add another run up the stairs.
38th- Cry really hard and go to our friends house that has a trampoline.

If I don't have this baby by then I don't know what I will do. I know this is still two weeks early but I am a really good cooker and my babies are ready by then. Spencer was two weeks early and I think he was overdone maybe even a little burnt.
If I missed something let me know so I can add it to my plan. Bring on the baby!!!!!!!!!

Just a little update

Garett- School got basically canceled this week, except for 2 hours on Thursday. The boys have been in Daddy Heaven. I have also been spoiled with him doing all the dishes and cooking breakfast everyday. However, now that the week is almost over he is starting to freak out about all the studying he should have been doing. Whatever, we had the best week!!!!

Rachel- I am not sleeping well. I can't breath right. I don't fit into any of my clothes. However, this pregnancy has not been soooooo bad. This is the first pregnancy that I have allowed myself to get excited about having a baby, so now I really want her here! At the same time I am really worried about Garett having to study and me losing my mind with a new baby. If we can get through March we can get through anything life throws at us.

Preston- He is even more excited then I am about this baby. "She is taking a long time to come out". He is not as excited about the snow anymore since it has stayed here for almost a week. He has become a hoarder (sp) and carries a backpack around full of random "special" stuff. It makes me a little worried and I really want to just dump the thing in the trash. He gets bored easily and I think he is totally ready for school.

Spencer- He is feeling and looking a lot better. He still gets random rashes everyday but the go away fast when we put on cream. He still loves the snow and will be sad to see it go since it has been the only thing he has eaten this last week. He is the worst at going to bed and comes into our room at least twice if not more times to tell us random thing. They are so funny that I can't get mad at him. He hates cleaning up toys but loves to dump them all out. He is my cuddlier and doesn't like that my big belly gets in the way. He is not excited about the baby and plans on being mean to her, but he did give up his hippo blanket to her so maybe there is hope for him and her.

Baby- She is by far the most active baby in the world. Don't believe me then just give me you hand for a minute. She still doesn't have a name, but we do have some that we like but don't like them a lot. I am in my 35th week and would be happy if she came out sometime in Feb.
